My Story

With an original background in photojournalism I started my jewelry career nearly 10 years ago when I grew bored with being a photographer and thirsting for more knowledge. In 2014 I found myself re-enrolled in school but this time for metals and jewelry design. I graduated from Nazareth College in 2016, a B.S in Fine Arts and a concentration in metals and jewelry design. I was ready to go! Not! After graduation the build up to my business was slow. With a lack of a studio space and certain smith knowledge I put my metalwork on the backburner.

I was just an artist/photographer then with no clue on where or how to even launch an art career. Sure photography gigs came easy but gosh to get people to buy a piece I created was nerve wracking! I sat on my equipment for three years when I finally buckled my boot straps and got my butt to work. In 2018 I revamped the spare room of our townhouse into a studio space and started creating again. I was back at it and for real!

At the end of 2019 I left my day job as a document preparer and I launched my first set of collections on Etsy. Those first few sales were enough to get the fire fully ignited. I was ready to finally make this thing happen and make a career and name for myself in the jewelry design world. Time to start reaching out to stores…..wait.

Turn the page to 2020. The world was slammed with a pandemic of epic proportions and like many I found myself with the world in lockdown. Forced indoors I began reconnecting with other art forms I had previously explored, like printmaking and added that to the production menu. Even though it was a time of uncertainty it also became a time of business development and strategy for growing a proper business and that’s when I finally launched SNJD Boutique.

Now I offer a wide range of custom, small batch collection and commission work all with a story to tell and a flare for adventure!
